Prayer Requests

Hebrews 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Over the last several years, we have received various prayer requests, which we have striven to pray for. I know, for me, these prayer requests have kept my heart tender and kept exhorting me personally to bring my friends, family, and Internet friends and associates to the Lord continually in prayer.

One of the benefits of fellowshipping with other Christians is the sharing of prayer requests. When we share our burdens, our sorrows are halved and our joys are doubled. Romans 12:15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. This world can be a tough place for the child of God, but we have a wonderful Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, who has promised to meet all our needs if we bring them to Him in prayer. We know that we are not struggling alone, and that our problems and needs are brought before God's throne of grace and laid at Jesus' feet. When we do this with a fervent, sincere heart, we know that He will take care of our burdens and fulfill our needs according to His will for our lives.

If the Christian has difficulty at times coping with hardships and struggles, imagine what it must be like for the lost who do not know our Saviour. The Bible gives us many promises to claim when we pray, including promises regarding our lost loved ones. Let's be faithful to pray for them. I know I could use a reminder and exhortation to do this more often. (If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, please prayerfully read and consider this link:  http://www.earnestlycontending.com/gspos.html)

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Please remember to let us rejoice with you when a posted prayer request is answered! It is so encouraging, and it certainly strengthens our faith, to see the Lord answering prayers and fulfilling needs.

Wisdom for Angela Trenholm and Jerry Bouey regarding the development of EarnestlyContending! That this domain and all its contents/ministries would be to the glory of God, that Christians would be edified, and the lost would be presented with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

August 1st/04 - Pray for Mrs. Carol Trenholm (Angela's Mother-in-law). She is dying of cancer. She is saved and is clinging to the Lord, but please keep her and her husband Harold in your prayers. They also need prayers that their farm in New Brunswick would sell quickly.

August 1st/04 - For Jerry Bouey - Praise the Lord! I got a good job that pays $12.50/hr, is full-time, and looks like a good place to work. Starting on May 23rd as a Hotel night clerk (with some security checks as well).

August 1st/04 - Volunteering at a Gospel Mission in Kelowna. Pray that souls would be saved and believers strengthened in their walk with the Lord. I am doing the supper devotions on Fridays - pray that I can clearly present the Gospel and offer encouragement for those who are saved. So far these devotions are going well and I am seeing some fruit as a result. I have preached 25 times so far, as of July 30th.

August 1st/04 - Please pray for two men from the Kelowna Gospel Mission that I witnessed to last weekend and had a part in leading to the Lord. Their names are Jesse and Scott. Pray for their growth and that they would follow the Lord in believer's baptism.

August 1st/04 - Pray that if it is the Lord's will, I will be able to take over the service for the Senior's Home that one of the preacher boys in our church does once a month. I have led services for the senior's and preached at senior's homes several times in the past (including last weekend for him). He will be moving away to University in another city and so far they are still deciding who they will get as a replacement. Angela's daughters have also helped me several times, and they are willing to help out on a regular basis if it is God's will for me to take over the services.

August 1st/04 - Please pray for the daily devotionals that I am now attempting to send out. I feel that the Lord wants me to put more time into developing my studies and messages for preaching, so I believe that working on writing new devotions daily would be great practice for me, as well as be an encouragement to those that read them and hear them preached (at the Mission or Senior's home). Thank you.

Prayer Request Requirements:

Please send your prayer requests to  Please use this address when submitting any requests or answers to be placed on our Requests page. While we will certainly reply to any emailed prayer requests that are sent to our website (regardless of the specific address it is sent to), it is so much easier to keep track of certain parts of our website when the appropriate addresses are used. Thank you for understanding.

All requests will be dated and will be displayed for two weeks, unless we are given updated information or the request is submitted again. We will do our best to ensure that all prayer requests are current. Unless you are personally familiar with the request, please do not pass it on to us (ie. e-mails with endless forwards, these are almost always out of date - the need is no longer there - or hoaxes).

We understand the need for privacy on the internet, but we know from personal experience that people will not pray for a vague request. Please include a name (whether first or last) of either the person needing prayer, or yourself. (Example: My name is Rachel, please pray for my Grandpa who needs to be saved.) That way, it will also be easier to associate and post the update to a previously given request, and God's people will be encouraged as they see prayer's answered.

You must understand that all requests (if appropriate) will be publicly displayed, so please do not include any information that is too personal or that you do not want shared (or else clearly label it as such in the email, so it is not posted). We will edit all requests for clarity and for brevity, if needed.

Depending on the volume of the requests, we may subdivide them into categories as time goes on.

If there are any further questions or concerns you may have, please don't hesitate to email us regarding them.

Jerry Bouey and Angela Trenholm
