A child, who has been allowed to disrespect and sass his parents, will have
difficulty in reverencing God and other authority that has been set over him.
Children need to be taught by example. If the mother is not reverencing her
husband, or the father not submitting to God, the child will struggle in his
own submission to authority.
If we neglect a problem with our children, the root just gets deeper and
deeper.

travel that way himself "
